California Bulk Density and Soil Carbon Calculator
DESCRIPTION: This calculator estimates bulk density based on saturation percentage and soil organic matter in soils in the Sacramento Valley, California. The soil carbon calculator uses total soil carbon percentage, bulk density, and soil sampling depth to calculate total pounds of carbon per acre.
SOURCE: This calculator is based on a model developed by Sarah E. Light and Veronica Suarez Romero at the University of California. The predictive model was developed using data from 83 soil samples collected from sites across California. In their study, the researchers compared 14 models incorporating various soil properties, including soil texture, saturation percentage, soil organic carbon, and soil organic matter. This calculator uses the best-performing model to estimate soil bulk density.

California Soil Health Reports App
DESCRIPTION: The California Soil Health Reports app is a web-based tool that helps agricultural producers, researchers, and extension professionals generate comprehensive soil health reports from their field data. Simply upload your data, customize your project information, and download reports in HTML or DOCX format.
SOURCE: This application was developed by Maegen Simmonds in collaboration with University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR) and the California Farm Demonstration Network (CFDN). The soil health reporting functions build on and reuse functions originally developed in the {soils} R package, created by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and Washington State University as part of the Washington Soil Health Initiative (WASHI)
