DETAILS:

Join us for an interactive Webinar with Pilz Produce and the Lincoln High School Farm where we’ll review two successful Fuels Reduction and Wildfire Resilience projects in Placer County! Farmers, Ranchers, Technical Assistance providers, students and any interested community members are invited to attend and participate!

Across California, farmers and ranchers face imminent wildfire risk. From direct wildfire danger for folks in the Wildland Urban Interface, to prolonged smoke exposure disrupting operations and damage to livestock and crops, Wildfire Resilience is of the utmost importance for agriculturalists, land managers, and the entire community.

The California Fire Foundation is a nonprofit organization which provides emotional and financial assistance to firefighters, their families, and the communities they protect. With the help of the California Fire Foundation, the Community Alliance with Family Farmers was able to provide funding for two Fuels Reduction and Wildfire Resilience projects.

Farmers and ranchers are uniquely positioned to be at the forefront of management for wildfire resilience in their communities. With deeply rooted local knowledge of the land and its ecology, and the knowhow required for operating heavy equipment, the missing link is funding. The Community Alliance with Family Farmers hopes this webinar will spread the word about the opportunities for climate resilience work across agricultural communities in California.
