STARTS: April 10, 2024 10:00 am
ENDS: April 10, 2024 1:00 pm
DETAILS:

Join CAFF (Community Alliance with Family Farmers) at Heartwood Farm in Linden, CA to hear farmers Franz Eilers and Emma Wade discuss making on-farm compost. Through their involvement with the Sustainable Agriculture and Research Education (SARE) Grant Program, they have implemented whole farm cycling of nutrients and carbon using orchard waste. We will also be joined by compost advisor and owner of Fulcrum Farm, Marney Blair, to give us the rundown of what compost is, why growers should apply it, how to choose a compost type, and so much more. Additional resources about the Compost Connector and other funding programs from Zero FoodPrint will also be provided.
